The phenomenon, now known as the Great Year, was a cycle 26,000 years long caused by the rotation of the celestial pole around the pole of ecliptic and tracked by Precession of the Equinoxes and the Precession of the Pole Stars. To understand Nile Valley history – and indeed the history of the world – one must first study the Wheel of Heaven and its 26,000-year cycle.
